About the project

Romania-Serbia joint initiative against cancer in cross-border region: improved diagnosis and treatment of malignant tumors

The common challenge is fighting against cancer, a major health problem for people living on both sides of Romanian-Serbian border.

At the end of the project, all the hospitals involved in project implementation, will have both the proper infrastructure of spaces and equipment for efficient cancer treatment and a software tool for complete diagnostic and clinical decision support.

The tool will allow a structured diagnosis strategy, evaluation of critical parameters and individual-tailored therapy, leading to the new concept of personalized anti-tumor therapy.

The strength of the project is based on this mixture of investment in hospitals infrastructure as well as in the software tool for cancer diagnosis and treatment that can ensure access to modern and efficient health care services for all residents on the two sides of the border affected by different types of cancer.
